The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. About the role

As a Legal Administration Officer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our legal team. Your primary duties will include:

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files and records
  • Coordinating appointments and scheduling court appearances
  • Liaising with clients, legal professionals, courts and other external stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation of briefs to Counsel, board reports and legal training materials
  • Ensuring compliance with legal protocols and guidelines

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Relevant qualifications, or experience in legal administration or a related field (law students strongly encouraged to apply).
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal software applications
  • Experience working in a law firm or community legal centre, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation or other related organisation

Requirements:

Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended)
