The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) is an Aboriginal Community-Controlled organisation that supports and advocates for the Aboriginal Community and is the largest organisation of its kind in Australia. The VACCA team is committed to the organisation’s visions and values, passionately providing support, service and advocacy for our children and other vulnerable members of the community.
Our strength lies with our people.
This role delivers the Aboriginal-led Case Conferencing (ALCC) program in VACCA North, working alongside the current Convenor. ALCC is a culturally safe, early intervention program that supports Aboriginal families, especially those reported to Child Protection, by connecting them to services and facilitating case conferences to address child safety concerns and reduce system involvement.
As the Aboriginal-led Case Conferencing (ALCC) Convenor, you will work with Aboriginal families, including pregnant mothers, who Child Protection has referred. Your role involves engaging families to explain the Child Protection process and the benefits of participating in ALCC, making culturally appropriate service referrals, and coordinating case conferences with families, Elders, and professionals. You will collaborate closely with VACCA programs, external services, and Child Protection, provide short-term case management support, attend key meetings, and maintain accurate case notes in line with reporting requirements.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply
