Social justice is at the heart of UTS's strategic and operational priorities. The PVC (SJI) provides leadership and strategic direction to support the development of UTS’s social justice vision, directing the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion (CSJI), and overseeing the Human Technology Institute (HTI).
The Paul Ramsay Foundation has provided funding for the establishment and development of the Australian Network for Quality Digital Education to provide a platform to leverage expertise on ‘best practice’ design, use and management of AI-based education technology to enable and accelerate effective, equitable edtech policy and practice, and ultimately to improve educational outcomes for students experiencing disadvantage.
The Research Officer reports to the Director, Edtech and Education Policy.
This role will provide research and project assistance to the Director, Edtech and Education Policy, as well as to the Paul Ramsay Foundation Fellow and Industry Professor, to support the establishment and management of a high-profile cross-sectoral network (Australian Network for Quality Digital Education) that will leverage AI-enabled education technology to disrupt educational disadvantage.
The Research Officer will also supports the Director, Edtech and Education Policy and Industry Professor in shaping and delivering a substantial associated work program that focuses on building the evidence base for the effective use of edtech for equity and related policy implications.
Provide high-level support for the core research and project activities of the Industry Professor’s work program within the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion

Base Salary Range: $89,246 to $96,631 pa (HEW 6)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis of 15 months, until January 2025. We would also be open to a job share arrangement for suitable candidates.
