Educate2Empower Publishing (an imprint of UpLoad Publishing Pty Ltd) has been operating since 2010 and is an award-winning niche children's book publisher specialising in children's books on BODY SAFETY, CONSENT, GENDER EQUALITY, RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS, and SOCIAL and EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE. We are a small publisher that uses a combination of technology and focused, judicious publishing decisions to publish high-quality books that aim to make the world a better place.

The Role

We are a values-driven and socially aware company that is passionate about equality, inclusivity, and the protection of children. We aim to educate and empower children as well as adults who care for them through engaging and beautifully illustrated texts. To continue to evolve and focus on other project initiatives, we are seeking a dynamic, proactive, and hands-on Office Manager to join our team.  This newly created position will take on the responsibility of the day-to-day running of our modest operations, including client account management, assisting with marketing, warehouse/packing and IT requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  •  Manage all customer interaction, both retail and wholesale, including answering queries, providing quotes, processing orders, and resolving problems with orders in a friendly, helpful, and timely manner.
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory management, including monitoring stock and office supply levels, ordering required items, and overseeing the unloading of book deliveries into the warehouse.
  • Work closely with the marketing manager to provide technical support with online marketing systems, web analytics etc.
  • Pack and send orders and/or oversee others to do the same.
  • Act as webmaster for our online presence.

About You

You are an all-rounder and thrive on variety and doing what’s required to get the job done. You enjoy the benefits of collaborating in a small team and are also comfortable taking on responsibility and working autonomously when required. You possess strong interpersonal skills, and along with your professional presentation, you enjoy liaising with clients and putting your highly-developed communication and negotiation skills to good use. You have a natural affinity for technology and a love of learning and using new systems effectively, excel at problem-solving and as well as contributing to process improvements that benefit the team.

In addition, you will also possess the following.

  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, especially Instagram and Facebook.
  • Image editing and optimising skills for the web.
  • Strong desktop publishing and IT skills (Mac and Web).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong desktop publishing skills (desirable).
