  • Initial 6-month contact with extension

Our Mission

UnLtd is a social purpose organisation that unlocks the skills and power of the media, marketing and creative industry to support charities helping young people at risk. So far, we have generated over $250M of social impact to help every young person have unlimited opportunities, no matter what circumstances they’re born into.

Recently, we brought the industry together to launch our first-ever social enterprise, MOOD Tea, which is now available at Woolworths across the country.

Despite our success, we’re far from finished and are now looking for a philanthropy and grants expert to join the team and assist in securing funds for our next phase of growth.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in securing funding used to support UnLtd’s mission and projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the philanthropy and not-for-profit grant funding processes, exceptional research abilities, persuasive communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully acquiring grants from various sources. As Philanthropy Manager, you will collaborate with the broader business, research potential funding opportunities, develop compelling grant proposals, and manage grant-related activities to ensure the continued success and growth of our initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research and Opportunity Identification:
    • Conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other relevant sources.
    • Stay updated on grant trends, funding priorities, and regulations within the industry.
    • Evaluate the suitability of potential grants based on alignment with UnLtd’s goals and project objectives.
  2. Proposal Development:
    • Lead the development of persuasive grant proposals, including narrative content, budgets, and supporting documentation.
    • Collaborate with the team, subject matter experts, and finance to gather relevant information for proposal submissions.
    • Tailor proposals to meet specific funder requirements, addressing key selection criteria and demonstrating a strong understanding of the funding organisation's priorities.
  3. Relationship Building and Networking:
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key players within the philanthropy world, grant officers, program officers, and other stakeholders at funding organisations.
    • Attend grant-related events, conferences, and workshops to expand networks and stay informed about funding opportunities.
  4. Grant Submission and Compliance:
    • Manage the entire grant application process, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals.
    • Monitor grant compliance requirements, reporting deadlines, and deliverables, and ensure that all obligations are met.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, statistics, and success stories for use in grant applications.
    • Work closely with finance and legal teams to ensure accurate budgeting and adherence to legal and financial regulations.
  6. Evaluation and Impact Assessment:
    • Monitor the progress and impact of funded projects to provide accurate and compelling impact reports to funders.
    • Analyse the effectiveness of grant strategies and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  7. Knowledge Sharing:
    • Provide guidance and training to colleagues on best practices in grant research, proposal development, and grant management.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing grants from diverse funding sources, including philanthropy, government, and corporate granters.
  • Strong understanding of grant application processes, grant writing techniques, and funding trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Exceptional research skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into concise and persuasive proposals.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in grant management software and tools is a plus.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
