About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join Uniting SA’s Hotel-Services team as a Housekeeping Services Assistant. The role of the Housekeeper is to maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment for residents, with all requirements met in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory standards. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of excellent cleaning services as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor for Hotel Services
  • Coordinate effective housekeeping routines that deliver a high standard of cleaning services throughout the facility
  • Correctly operate and maintain all cleaning equipment in accordance with operating instructions
  • Ensure and maintain sufficient supplies are available for housekeeping cleaning services
  • Participate in reviews of routines and work practices for continuous improvement
  • Ensure infection control guidelines for cleaning are followed at all times
  • Ensure appropriate use of chemicals at all times when undertaking cleaning duties
  • Communicate in a professional manner with residents, families, other staff and visitors at all times
  • Adhere strictly to Cleaning Regulations and other safety procedures at all times
  • Maintain high level standards of hygiene and tidiness in resident’s rooms and entire Aged Care Facility 

Experience & Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience working in an aged care setting, hotel environment or health setting (desirable)
  • Knowledge/experience using commercial cleaning equipment
  • Sound knowledge of safe work practices
  • Sound knowledge of safe work practices relating to chemicals
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility in adapting to a changing roster
  • An ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • An understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
