Uniting Country SA - Caring for Country People
The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership, governance, and oversight to ensure the integrity, accountability, and long-term sustainability of Uniting Country SA. By working collaboratively, the Board shapes the organisation’s direction, supports executive leadership, and champions initiatives that create meaningful impact across regional and remote communities. Its primary goal is to uphold the organisation’s mission, guide strategic priorities, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations while fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and community empowerment.
The Board is finalising its new strategic plan around the following five pillars - being future ready, ensuring influence through advocacy, focus on sustainability, looking towards innovation and optimising delivery.
As a remunerated Board Director, you will play a key role in the governance of the organisation. This includes contributing to strategic planning, ensuring accountability, and supporting the Chief Executive and leadership team in delivering impactful services. You will also help guide major initiatives, including property developments and service innovations.
We seek two directors to fill one current vacancy and another that becomes available in October.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have governance experience in areas such as Cyber Security, Disability Services, Mental Health, Social and Community Services. Additionally, we highly value applications from individuals who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Persons.
You will be expected to attend monthly Board meetings, participate in subcommittees, and function as an ambassador for UCSA. A strong understanding of governance, strategic leadership, and community engagement is essential. Prior board experience and familiarity with the South Australian human services sector are highly regarded, though a willingness to learn is equally valued.

Appointment to the role will be subject to a Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
This role may require occasional travel across South Australia and participation in out-of-hours meetings or events.
