This is a permanent part-time opportunity where you will be required to work the following shift times:
Foyer Central is Uniting’s bold social impact investment program in partnership with St George Community Housing and Social ventures Australia. The program provides 53 young people aged 18-22 with a lived experience in Out of Home Care (OOHC), independent student accommodation style apartment and a team of Youth Development Coaches to provide support during their 2-years within the program.
Based in Chippendale in Sydney's CBD, you will deliver and work within an established framework of a strength-based approach. Working with up to a maximum of 10 students, your measures for success will be gauged by the level of engagement and advances in students independent living skills. You will be engaging and hands on and have the opportunity to build and create a range of workshops including flexibility to complete off site sessions and engage in fun activities with students. With our students in mind you’ll be focused on empowering and goal setting with the aim of leading students to live purposeful lives while focusing on Foyer Central’s 5 program focused areas.
Focus areas include education and employment, health and wellbeing, community connections, and housing and living skills. Students are able to reside at Foyer Central for up 2 years with the goal of transitioning to independent living upon completion of the program.
As a Youth Development Coach you’ll join a bold dedicated team making real changes in how young people with an out of home care experience see their lives. You will be a connection between students and community enhancing a young person’s journey to independence.
