About the Role
As the Capital Works Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in the strategic development of our Capital Works team within the Directorate. You’ll manage the entire project lifecycle from inception to handover for projects valued between $500K and $2M, often requiring statutory approvals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership: Guide the planning, budgeting, and reporting of Capital Works activities, ensuring seamless project coordination and preparing regular management reports.
- Project Management Excellence: Drive project objectives across scope, cost, program management, safety, quality control, risk management, and communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams such as Asset Management, Portfolio Planning, and various Uniting executives.
- Documentation & Compliance: Oversee the creation and maintenance of high-quality project documentation in alignment with Uniting’s policies and procedures.
- Commissioning: Collaborate with Asset Management and Service Managers for project commissioning.
- Mentorship: Support and develop the skills of project team members while embedding best practice project management processes.
Qualifications & Experience
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Qualifications: Degree in Construction, Engineering, Property, or Project Management, with a minimum of 8 years’ project management experience, including at least 5 years supervising a small team of external specialists.
- Project Management Expertise: Proven experience leading projects in construction or project management sectors, with comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and WHS regulations.
- Advanced Communication Skills: Ability to present information clearly, analyse data, and develop written, numeric, and verbal solutions.
Desirable Skills:
- Postgraduate qualifications in construction or project management.
- Proficiency in Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with aged care, live sites in health, hospitality, retail, or aviation.
- Experience in community services project delivery and capital asset replacement.
