As our new Village Support Coordinator you will be an integral member of the Village Management team through the following

Role Objectives

  • Act as first point of contact for residents and their guests and a liaison between residents and facility staff/village manager
  • Address resident concerns and inquiries promptly and with empathy, providing reassurance and support as needed.
  • Assist residents and village community to develop a program that reflects community preferences, enables residents to maximise their abilities and appreciates the physical, social, cultural, and unique background each person brings.
  • Elevate lifestyle, wellbeing, social connection, and care for our residents and village community.
  • Build strong and inclusive relationships by communicating effectively with residents, families, and staff team members.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and conduct is expected of every employee, that is: clean, neat, tidy, punctual, and respectful language and manner towards residents, visitors and to each other.
  • Support the Village Manager with preparation of the annual budget by sourcing and collating relevant information as requested.
  • Support the village manager to take proactive steps to identify, mitigate and resolve actual and potential risk within the village, assist with risk mitigation plans and ensure lessons learned are shared – leverage learnings to identify emerging trends and service improvement opportunities.
  • Support the village manager to implement purposeful and regular communication within the village and aligned to the business unit communication strategy, including newsletters and resident forums.
  • Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all residents, team member and Uniting organisational information is maintained, and boundaries are respected and maintained.

Experience

Typically, this role will require two or more years’ experience in the field of frontline customer service. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined. You will be continuing to develop in your area of expertise and be expected to provide innovative ideas to solve problems in your discipline. 

It is expected that you will possess good skills at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required.

Even better

  • Previous relevant experience in Community Care and/or Aged Care.
  • Diversity of thought and experience gained across retirement living, health care, aged care, or other customer-focused sectors (e.g. hospitality and retail).
  • Awareness of operational budgets and understanding of working within.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions which balance commercial outcomes with customer experience, applying consideration to mitigate areas of risk.
  • Working knowledge of the Retirement Villages Act (NSW and/or ACT as relevant) or willingness to learn.
