About the Role:

This amazing full-time permanent position, based at our beautiful North Parramatta Campus with parking available is available NOW!

We are seeking a competent Investigator ideally with 2-3 years of experience to join a small and highly dedicated team.

Please note this is not a senior role and there are no direct reports.

You understand and can interpret legislation, manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately in accordance with Reportable Conduct Legislative/Regulatory requirements across NSW and ACT jurisdictions and to Uniting’s foundation policies.

You have demonstrated experience and expertise as a Community Services Investigator, managing cases within jurisdiction, sensitive and confidential information appropriately, and apply your logical thinking and clear forensic investigative skills in the face of serious situations.

You are patient, resilient, a team player, who is able to develop and maintain critical relationships with Uniting stakeholders, Program and Casework professionals, and Government agencies and regulators. Demonstrate a total commitment to child safety

You will have proven written and verbal communication skills, strengths in report writing.

As the Investigator your role specifically will:

• Assess and identify risk, risk of harm and to manage and progress cases
• Work within statutory and legislative requirements and policies to determine the appropriate course of action for investigations together with full and transparent engagement with key internal and external parties (eg. NSW Police, Office of Children’s Guardian, ACT Ombudsman, DCJ, and other agencies as required)
• Support, monitor, and complete formal intake, triage, and assessment activities across Reportable Conduct jurisdictions in NSW and the ACT and NDIS Reportable Incident reporting obligations to the NDIS Commission
• Interpret, analyse and source evidence to determine findings in relation to alleged misconduct.
• Identify themes, trends, and recommendations for continual improvement activities to drive and influence improvements in service and organisation policies and practice models improving delivery of services.
• Provide routine, monitoring, and trending reporting to meet and achieve mandatory reporting obligations  
• Manage internal and external relationships together
• Together with other stakeholders build on the knowledge and capability of Uniting staff in regard to Child Protection and Uniting’s Reportable Conduct obligations

Qualifications:  

• Relevant Tertiary qualifications

About you:

• Possess strong interviewing skills relating to sensitive issues (including the ability to interview children of varying ages
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Children's Guardian Act 2019
• Knowledge and exposure to the Disability Sector and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Incident Management and Reportable Incidents) Rules 2018
• Have proven report writing, and excellent written and verbal communications skills to engage formally with all stakeholders at all levels
• Be able to work to tight timeframes and within relevant delegations of authority
• Actively engage in reflective practice and a culture of continuous learning and development
• Understanding of Community Sector
• Passion for social change, social justice, and community cohesion
