About the role

As an Instructional Design Specialist, you’ll develop innovative and engaging learning materials—including self-paced e-learning, trainer guides, and participant handbooks—to support the implementation of our Home with U program. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders to ensure training aligns with Uniting’s mission and industry standards, promoting a blended learning approach.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and developing training materials such as e-learning modules, facilitator guides, quick reference guides, and scenario-based learning tools.
  • Ensuring learning materials are engaging, accessible, and aligned with Uniting’s industry standards and style guides.
  • Working closely with the Learn@Uniting Team and the Home with U Project Team to implement an effective blended learning approach.
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to understand project training needs and develop tailored learning solutions.
  • Managing multiple projects effectively, ensuring materials are delivered on time and within budget.

What we’re looking for

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field (or  equivalent experience).
  •  Proven experience designing and developing blended learning solutions (face- to-face, online, and self-paced).
  •  Proficiency in Articulate Storyline and other digital learning tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, MS Office Suite).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills—ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders.

Bonus points if you have:

Experience navigating complex organisations and managing stakeholder relationships.

  •  Proficiency in HTML/CSS and strong MS Excel skills.
  •  A desire to continuously learn and stay ahead of learning technology trends.
