About the Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time permanent Educator / Cook (50 hours a fortnight, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 1:30 pm) to join our team at Uniting Early Learning Medowie!

  • Base Salary up to $28.18 + Super + Salary Packaging benefits
  • Pay less tax - maximum amount of not-for-profit (NFP) salary packaging available up to $18,650 per year

What you’ll be doing in this role

  • Planning nutritious, well presented and appropriate meals and snacks for children (0-5years) whilst adhering to food handling and hygiene practices
  • Responsible for ensuring various dietary requirements and allergies are accounted for.
  • Responsible for stock control and ordering.
  • Developing positive relationships that support children, their families and community.
  • Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.

Who we’re looking for

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (essential) or willing to obtain one if successful
  • Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or Children's Services (Desirable but not required)
  • Preferred Experience in meal preparation for the Early Child Care setting.
  • Flexibility required for all areas (E.g. Menu adjustments and work hours)
  • A team-player attitude, with the ability to work effectively with staff and management
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
