About the opportunity:

We’re excited to launch a brand-new Recovery Support Service (RSS), and we’re looking for a passionate and experienced Coordinator to lead this important work in Western NSW. If you're ready to build something meaningful from the ground up, and help flood-affected communities recover and thrive, we want to hear from you.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a new and evolving program that will support communities in their recovery from natural disasters – particularly floods – with compassion and care. As the Recovery Support Service Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the RSS Manager to establish and grow the program within the Children and Families Western NSW team.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Leading the implementation and coordination of this new service, ensuring it meets funding and community needs
• Providing supportive supervision, development, and leadership for a newly established team
• Collaborating with key stakeholders to build strong referral pathways and drive local engagement
• Supporting participants through strength-based, trauma-informed casework practices
• Managing budgets, reporting, and contributing to the ongoing development of the program
• Travelling as needed, including to the Eugowra region, to provide responsive on-the-ground support

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

You are a strong leader with a heart for community impact and a passion for building services that matter. You thrive in dynamic environments, bring people together, and have the experience to support both teams and individuals through recovery.

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• 2+ years’ experience coordinating teams in the community services sector
• Proven leadership experience, especially in new or evolving service environments
• Knowledge of child protection and trauma-informed practice
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Understanding of the Homelessness sector and local recovery networks
• Confidence managing budgets, reporting, and quality service delivery
• A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
• A current NSW WWCC
