About the role:

This is a full-time permanent position located in Turner ACT. Starting base annual salary of $91,297 to $96,882 negotiable based on experience, plus super, plus access to generous salary packaging options.

About the opportunity:

Every child deserves a stable and loving home. As a Caseworker, you will work closely with families facing challenges, providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive support to prevent children from entering out-of-home care. Through intensive home visits, goal-setting, and hands-on support, you’ll help families develop essential parenting skills, improve relationships, and create safer environments for their children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with families in crisis, offering hands-on support to strengthen family bonds.
  • Develop tailored case plans that prioritise child safety and family wellbeing.
  • Provide early intervention strategies that empower parents and caregivers.
  • Build strong relationships with community services, child protection agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Advocate for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and impact.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience in casework, case management, or working with at-risk children and families
  • A deep understanding of child protection issues, risk assessments, and intervention strategies
  • The ability to engage with families from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Strong skills in building partnerships with external services to ensure the best outcomes for families
  • A current driver’s license and willingness to travel for home visits – Pool car available
  • A current WWVP card
