The Media Officer is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies to enhance UnionsWA’s public image and engagement. This role involves managing media relations, creating content, and coordinating communication efforts across various platforms.

THE ROLE WILL:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, coordinate press releases, interviews, and press conferences.
  • Create and edit engaging content for newsletters, websites, social media, and multimedia platforms, ensuring alignment with brand messaging.
  • Manage and grow UnionsWA’s social media presence, including content scheduling, engagement, and performance analysis.
  • Develop and distribute newsletters and updates, ensuring consistent communication across all work areas.
  • Design and produce publications, multimedia content, and branded materials.
  • Develop and execute crisis communication plans, supporting management as spokespeople and addressing potential issues proactively.
