Unions NSW is looking for a Full Time Digital Marketing Officer to join our Communications Team.

Job Role

The Communications and Digital Marketing Officer will work with the Unions NSW Communications team members to acquire and engage new supporters, deepen supporters commitment to union values and campaigns and trial and test new strategies and techniques to improve acquisition, engagement, retention and overall user experience across all touchpoints, including social media, digital advertising, email, SMS and websites.

Responsibilities

The Digital Marketing Officer responsibilities at Unions NSW include:

  • Managing and expanding existing lead generation programs, strategies and techniques.
  • Building and managing marketing funnels, including ongoing optimisation to maximise acquisition and conversion
  • Driving digital automation to increase operational efficiency and decreases costs to serve
  • Email marketing
  • Content marketing
  • SEO/SEM
  • UX testing and optimisation
  • Work with our communications, campaigns and Industrial teams to establish and leverage best-practice inbound marketing

The Digital Marketing Officer will collaboratively support and assist, as required, the work of the Unions NSW communications team. This includes:

  • Campaign planning and content strategy creation and execution
  • Communicate and collaborate professionally with internal and external peers, stakeholders and clients to promote Unions NSW
  • CRM and data management
  • Digital advertising planning, execution, performance monitoring and evaluation
  • Website and mass email and SMS
  • Assisting with other activities as directed by the Secretary and their delegate

Essential Criteria:

Experience

  • 1 -3 years’ experience in digital marketing.

Skills and Competencies 

  • Previous experience in AdWords and SEO
  • Experience in working with a CMS (Content Management Systems – website)
  • Proficient in developing and optimising HTML email (including design and build) highly desirable
  • Ability to use CRM platforms, and adapt to unfamiliar platforms
  • Ability to use marketing and database systems
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing email campaigns, including use of marketing automation tools
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytic and technical skills, with the ability to process data into actionable insights
  • Capacity to prioritise work, exercise judgement, initiative, while providing high level support within a highly charged environment
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands in an environment subject to sudden change
  • Proactive and self-directed while also working as a positive team member
  • A clear understanding and commitment to trade union principles

Desirable Criteria

  • Bilingual / multilingual
  • Tertiary level qualification in communications, digital marketing or related area

Conditions and Entitlements

  • Personal Leave: 10 days per annum (accumulative)
  • Annual Leave: 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
  • Long Service Leave: 2 months after 10 years’ service
  • Superannuation: 9.5% employer contributions 11.5% for female staff.
  • Parental Leave: 52 weeks leave including 22 weeks paid parental leave or 3 weeks paid parental leave non-primary carer

Salary will be subject to qualifications and experience of the success candidate.
