The School of Health Sciences, one of four Schools within the Faculty of Health and Medicine, excels in the teaching of allied health professionals and includes the disciplines of Family Studies, Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation Therapy), Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Therapy, Oral Health Therapy, Physiotherapy and Podiatry. The disciplines within the School achieve a balance between advancing the professional research profile of their respective areas and working together to educate future health care workers in a multi-professional health care environment.

The Lecturer in Occupational Therapy provides high-quality academic education in the area of Occupational Therapy and other health sciences through the teaching, development and coordination of undergraduate and postgraduate courses aligned to the strategic goals of both the Faculty and School.

This is a full-time ongoing position located on the leafy Callaghan campus where you can find open spaces and great coffee.

How will you inspire us?  

Undertaking research and scholarly work, you will engage in and contribute to administrative and service activities of the Discipline and School as well as the wider Faculty and University. To be successful in this role, you will possess a relevant PhD, a degree in the field of Occupational Therapy, be eligible for AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist and ideally possess expertise in paediatric, aged care or general Occupational Therapy practice.

You will bring significant clinical experience and expertise in the Occupational Therapy discipline and the relevant area of Occupational Therapy practice along with a sound understanding of contemporary professional and educational issues in Occupational Therapy and the broader health domains.

Your experience in the effective design and delivery of high-quality teaching at a tertiary level including the incorporation of new technologies and approaches will be supported by a research track record evidenced by relevant publications, grants, conference presentations. In addition, you will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and experience in the supervision of research higher degree students appropriate to stage of career.
