About the Role
The Director of Partnerships plays a pivotal role in helping UNAA NSW build, manage, and grow strategic relationships that align with our mission and support the achievement of our strategic objectives.
The role is responsible for the development of partnership strategies, the management of partnership documentation, and collaboration with Pillar and Program Leads to support partnership-driven growth and engagement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and Develop Partnerships:
- Work closely with the Vice President Programs and Vice President Operations to identify, cultivate, and secure Strategic (long-term, mission-aligned) and Transactional (event or project-specific) partnerships that contribute to UNAA NSW’s aims.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate, government, academic, and community partners.
- Manage Partnership Documentation:
- Develop, update, and maintain essential partnership management documents, including:
- Partnership Register
- Partnership Prospectus
- Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)
- Due Diligence Forms and processes
- Support Pillars and Programs:
- Liaise with Pillar and Program Leads to support the creation, negotiation, and management of partnership agreements related to their specific initiatives and events.
- Provide guidance and templates to Pillar Leads to ensure consistency and compliance with UNAA NSW standards.
- Promote UNAA NSW’s Brand and Impact:
- Ensure that partner engagement aligns with UNAA NSW’s purpose, values, and brand.
- Seek opportunities to promote partnerships through UNAA NSW communication channels and public events.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent organisational and documentation skills
- Experience with partnerships, sponsorships, or fundraising activities (preferably in the non-profit or advocacy sector)
- Strategic thinking with the ability to align partnership activities with broader organisational goals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across volunteer teams and external organisations
- Commitment to the values and mission of the United Nations and UNAA NSW

- Location: NSW (primarily remote, with regular in-person meetings and events)
- Type: Volunteer role (Board/Executive Committee position)
- Expected Time Commitment: 15 hours per month
- Reports to: Vice President Operations
