The United Firefighters Union of Australia is a registered federal union of career firefighters and other fire service personnel. The Victorian Branch of the United Firefighters Union of Australia represents career firefighters, emergency call centre employees and fire agency corporate, administration, hospitality, technical and mechanical employees across Fire Rescue Victoria, Country Fire Authority & more.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work within a member-based organisation and support the administrative duties and activities of our union team and provide our members with administrative support.

Key responsibilities & functions:

• Support other team members in the successful delivery of services to our membership base;
• Assist with Reception and Membership duties as required;
• Assist with data entry processing as required;
• Assist with preparing and collating documents for meetings;
• Assist with the arranging of teleconferences and virtual meetings;
• Assist with scanning and filing; and
• Any other general administrative tasks as necessary to support the union’s needs and requirements.

About you:

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following essential attributes:

• Planning, organisational and time management skills, and the ability to be flexible;
• Typing skills and computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications usage (including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) and experience in databases;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Interpersonal skills and an ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and members;
• Attention to detail;
• Positive can-do attitude;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and cooperatively as a member of a small team;
• Experience in a similar role, preferably in a membership-based organisation.
