Firefighters care for community and our small union was formed to protect and fight for firefighters as they care for all of us.
At our Union, we work together using our collective strength to negotiate and protect the best pay and conditions for firefighters, to ensure good health and safety standards, enhanced training and development and modern fleet and facilities.
And when the worst happens, we take care of injured firefighters and their families.
The UFUSA Industrial Officer will play an important role in our small team, providing advice and support to members on a range of industrial matters including wages and conditions, disciplinary, promotion and training matters including the interpretation of enterprise agreement and award terms.
Drafting, lodging and running disputes and other matters in the SA Employment Tribunal and Fair Work Commission together with researching and preparing reports on industrial and health and safety matters form a further part of the duties of this role.

We are looking for a candidate with a demonstrated commitment to the principles of trade unionism, a sound knowledge of industrial relations and work health and safety, advocacy experience, a commitment to working as a team and high level interpersonal and written communication skills.
Legal and WHS qualifications are highly desirable.
