UnitingCare Family and Disability Services are currently seeking a Service Manager to lead our Foster and kinship Care General and Intensive Services covering Central Queensland region.

This is a rewarding and challenging role where you will have a significant opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children, young people, carers and families.

The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day operations of the service and provide professional leadership to employees with emphasis on delivery of high-quality, best practice service delivery to carer families and young people.

Please note this position may include some regional travel.

The role:

• Provide line management and practice supervision, leadership and guidance to service delivery employees.
• Work within relevant quality and risk frameworks and guidelines in accordance with relevant standards to ensure delivery of high-quality services, respect of client’s rights and confidentiality.
• Manage the program within budget and in consultation with the State-Wide Manager, contribute to the budget planning cycle with specified accountability requirements

What makes a difference for us?

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology or Social Science)
• Significant experience in Child protection and delivering Foster and Kinship Care services to children and families.
• Demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve service performance outcomes together with an ability to provide quality supervision and training.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
• Current drivers’ licence.
• A current Blue Card or willingness to make an application for one
• Must also be willing to undergo a personal history checks under the provision of the Child Protection Act 1999 in relation to Licensing of Care Services
