Your part in our UnitingCare Community team

We are currently seeking to appoint an Assessment and Engagement Worker to work as a part of our UnitingCare Assessment and Service Connect Team based in Kingaroy. The Engagement and Assessment Worker will establish first contact with the family according to the priority and risk assessment level. You will undertake initial assessments with the family in the home or in an agreed location, establishing need and the required level of support and assistance.

What makes a difference for us?

You will need to be passionate about child protection and motivated to support families to enhance the safety and protection of vulnerable children and young people. The successful applicant will work closely with Child Safety and will require a high level of autonomy, excellent partnership building and communication skills. In addition to the above you will also be required to have:

  • Bachelor of Human Services
  • Less formal qualification with acquisition of considerable skills and extensive and diverse relevant experience to an equivalent standard
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ways that are innovative, inclusive and culturally appropriate for indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse groups
  • Current QLD Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
