The successful applicant will work in a 2 year, comprehensive early intervention program working with young people in Brimbank, Melton, Wyndham and Hume LGAs. Reporting to the Service Delivery Coordinator, this case management positions (full time) are responsible for providing proactive support, education and work ready skill development for young people at risk of engagement with the criminal justice system.

THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE:

Relevant experience working the Magistrates or Children's Courts, facilitating offence specific case management, engaging with key stakeholders, and liaising with families. You will have:

• Highly developed relationship and case management skills, with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
• Demonstrated experience in managing high quality documentation, and report writing.
• Ability and aptitude for assisting others in skill development
• Outstanding verbal communication skills
• Experience/ understanding of the criminal justice system and legislation and how it impacts vulnerable or disadvantaged young people and culturally diverse communities
• Experience in working with culturally and linguistically different communities.

YOU WILL NEED:

• A current Working With Children’s Check;
• Full Australian working rights;
• A current Police Records Check or be willing to undertake this process;
• A qualification in youth work, psychology, social work or behavioural sciences.
• Current Victorian Driver’s License
• Vaccination status as per state guidelines.

In the years since the Youth Junction has carved out a space linked to the lead tenancy of the Visy Cares hub, and a recognised expertise in crime prevention support services for those aged 15-25 in Western Melbourne.
