The role you could play:

We are seeking a dedicated Thrift Shop Manager! You will oversee and lead operations of Warrnambool Corps Thrift Shop to ensure quality customer service. Additionally, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of inclusiveness as well as the supervision of all employees and volunteers.

Duties

  • Maximise sales through processing of donations to the shop by receiving, sorting, pricing and hanging of saleable goods
  • Implement stock/mannequin rotation and stock management processes to ensure optimal shop stock levels are maintained
  • Ensure shop is presentable and inviting through appropriate measures
  • Work alongside the Corps leadership to set annual budgets to identify additional ways to promote shop income growth
  • Maintain all site security standards including activation of alarm systems, securing shop at opening/closing and training staff

Deliver excellence in customer service by responding to customer needs, training staff in best practice customer service and actively seeking opportunities to connect customers to TSA mission

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Warrnambool, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with General Retail Level 6 Award.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated relevant retail industry experience as a shop manager is desirable
  • Experience in managing and leading effective teams
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in cash handling, financial management and shop operations (highly desirable)
  • Completed or willingness to complete First Aid (PFA) training
  • Prior experience in a charitable recycling retail operation highly regarded
  • A current Driver's Licence
  • Physical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly and for long periods of time
  • Physical ability to push, pull, lift and carry items up to 10 kilos in weight
