We are seeking an AOD Team Leader with extensive experience in the Alcohol and Other Drug sector, to join the team at the Salvation Army's, Harry Hunter Rehabilitation Centre. This role is available on a permanent full-time basis.

Our AOD Team Leader is responsible for; providing clinical leadership, overseeing of effective case-management practices, staff supervision, and programme development.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the AOD Team Leader you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of safe, effective and individualised care to residents and their supporters (including managing staff and physical resources) in keeping with the organisation's Mission, Vision and Values.

You will work with and assist the Assistant Manager to plan, coordinate and evaluate the daily clinical and programme needs of the Centre's residents to maintain full accreditation and achieve best practice.

The main responsibilities of the role are, but not limited to:

  • Providing clinical leadership in the coordination of case-management, counselling and referral needs of residents
  • Promoting and supporting person-centred, individualised treatment planning in the context of TSA's National Model of Care
  • Managing a residential caseload as capacity changes may require
  • Maintaining accountability and responsibility for the clinical management of AOD outcomes of the residents in the Centre
  • Exercising critical thinking within an evidenced based framework to ensure the delivery of high quality AOD services which promote optimal outcomes for the residents
  • Working collaboratively with the broader Management team to ensure the effective running of the service, focusing on optimal outcomes for residents while maintaining the integrity of the programme in accordance with TSA mission, vision and values as well as AOD sector best-practice

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An understanding of, and empathy with, the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army
  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology or related field
  • Significant experience in the AOD and related sectors as well as one-on-one counselling experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of those experiencing substance use, misuse and abuse issues.
  • Understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a small team of AOD Practitioners and meet their supervision requirements
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • You must be a self-starter and able to work autonomously
  • Strong IT and administrative skills
