The Salvation Army is one of Australia's largest providers of alcohol and other drug services. We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services). About the role

Provide effective support to Participants ensuring a safe and structured environment is maintained in accordance with TSA guidelines, within a Participant lead recovery-based service.

You will successfully

  • Participants accessing the service are provided with a welcoming and responsive initial contact and urgent and immediate needs are addressed
  • In consultation with more senior worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken in relation to potential high-risk situations
  • Facilitation of daily activities and programs, which may include social activities, Spirit Lifter, information groups
  • Information is provided to assist in assessing and addressing participant issues, needs and circumstances
  • Effective relationships are established with participants that encourage self-determination and participation and support them to improve their situation

This is a casual position located in Red Hill, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community Home Care and Disability Services Level 3 Award.

You will have

  • Relevant certificate to the work performed
  • Previous experience in relevant industry, and/or on the job training
  • Diploma level qualification
  • A current and valid First Aid Certificate
  • A current drivers licence
