The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support all cohorts in case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive candidate to provide assistance to men and women who are homeless (or are at risk of homelessness). You will champion in rendering various support which provides stable, secure, safe and transitional accommodation.

You will successfully

  • Provide consistent support with Homelessness and The Salvation Army standards and protocols.
  • Direct accommodation information, emergency relief, mediation, referral and advocacy to all those requiring assistance.
  • Assist with service delivery in daily planning, advocacy, communication and transport as required by the service.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the building during shifts which requires regular walks around the building, reporting any negative feedback to management or senior on shift.
  • Maintain a positive and safe working environment and actively participate in building an inclusive environment for all.
  • Ensure all communication paths are clear and concise in keeping with client privacy and confidentiality.
  • Report all incidents, near misses, equipment repair requirements and illnesses to the Front of House Team Leader or via Solvsafety.
  • Participate in risk assessments and maintenance of areas and report safety concerns to the Front of House Team Leader or via Solvsafety.

This is a part-time (22.8 hours per week), permanent role located in Northbidge, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SACS WA Lvl3 Support Worker award.

You will have

  • Certificate IV in Community Services.
  • Previous experience in Homelessness or Human Services sector.
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police check
  • Current WA Drivers licenc
  • Proof of Covid Vaccination Certificates
