About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Family Violence Practitioner for our Refuge! You will you will work with adult and child victim survivors who have experience in family violence. Additionally, you will provide crisis response and specialist case management services to victim survivors in long-term refuge and transitional housing properties.

Responsibilities include

  • Specialist FV case management and crisis support provided to clients
  • Individual case plans are developed in collaboration with victim survivors and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients
  • Case plans actively led by the victim survivor
  • Victim survivors assisted to access holistic support services and establish community connections
  • Immediate material aid and other relevant needs of the adult and child victim survivors in crisis accommodation are supported
  • Work collaboratively with Salvation Army Housing Victoria and with guidance from the Team Leader to ensure refuge and transitional accommodation guidelines are adhered to by clients

This is a permanent full-time position, based in Coburg North, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5 Award.

You will have

  • A Tertiary Qualification in Social Work (essential)
  • Experience working in the family violence sector (desirable)
  • Experience in specialist family violence and or child wellbeing work (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated case management experience and skills
  • Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required
  • Advanced computer skills including experience in data and record management
  • Full Driver's Licence
