About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Family Violence Practitioner for our Rapid Response Team! You will deliver assessment, targeted interventions and referrals to women, and women with children, who have experienced and/or are currently experiencing family violence. Additionally, you will be required to provide interim support in the community and motels, and respond to referrals coming into the program including from The Orange Door, Safe Steps and self-referrals. The Family Violence Services works with service users from a feminist perspective, aiming to empower and increase the safety of women and children.
Responsibilities include:
- Effective relationships are established with clients that encourage self-determination and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care
- Support provided to clients in accordance with TSA case management models and standards of practice
- Ongoing assessment is made of the client's issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit and cases are put forward for allocation to case management
- Case plans are implemented and actively led by the participant
- Clients are assisted to access holistic support services and establish community connections, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers
- Progress of individual case plans are regularly monitored and where needed action is taken to ensure the plan continues to meet client needs or goals
- Key performance indicators are met in accordance with outcome measurement timeframes
This is a fixed term (until 30/06/2024), part-time or full-time position, based in Windsor, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 5.
What you will have
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work is essential
- Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist FV Workers (Recommendation 209)
- Experience working in the Family Violence Sector is desirable
- Experience in specialist family violence and child wellbeing highly desirable
- Demonstrated crisis response experience and skills
- Highly developed time management and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required
- Advanced computer skills including experience in data/record management
- Employee Working with Children's Check
- National Police Record Check is required
- Full Driver's Licence required
