About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time, Program Manager (Homelessness Residential Services) to join our Surry Hills, NSW team.

Reporting directly to the State Manager for Homelessness (NSW/ACT) with 5 direct reports and a team of approximately 26 staff the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of Homelessness Residential Services at Foster House (50 bed male crisis residential service).

As the Program Manager (Homelessness Residential Services) you will have the opportunity to strategically develop, manage, and lead person-centred service delivery, operations, and staff. The role oversees the provision of intake and assessment team, support workers, case management team, operations of the centre and budgets as an example.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and operationally manage Residential Services & Residential Support teams
  • Ensure programs deliver services in line with Homelessness Model of Care and other practice frameworks - person centred, strengths-based and trauma informed
  • Manage operating budget and related service delivery contracts
  • Build and maintain relationships with government departments and equivalent stakeholders as well as identifying and developing new funding opportunities
  • Ensure programs are effectively managed and resourced with adequate funding and skilled, competent staff
  • Being a leading presence in the sector within the state to promote and advocate the needs of people seeking services from the Salvation Army and best practice service delivery

About you:

  • Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field
  • Minimum 7 years relevant sector experience, including management experience
  • Qualifications and experience in business management highly regarded
  • Active membership and participation in community or government bodies within the sector
  • Valid WWCC and willingness to undergo police check as part of the recruitment process
