As an Access Point Senior Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families navigating the complexities of the private rental market—and your leadership will help shape brighter futures.

About the Role

This fixed-term full-time position is part of the Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP) within our Access Point team in Sunshine, VIC. You will provide essential guidance and operational support to the Access Point Coordinator and team, helping to ensure effective service delivery, collaborative stakeholder engagement, and a high standard of care for every person we serve.

You’ll be hands-on—supporting staff, managing service flow, overseeing communications, building strong connections with real estate agents and community partners, and maintaining a small caseload of PRAP participants to stay connected to the heart of the work.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the Access Point Coordinator with day-to-day operations and strategic service delivery
  • Lead the induction and mentoring of new PRAP staff
  • Monitor workflow and communication across Initial Assessment Planning and PRAP programs
  • Strengthen community and real estate agency partnerships across Brimbank and Melton
  • Provide secondary consultations and assist with complex client matters
  • Champion a collaborative, trauma-informed, and client-focused approach
  • Help embed the National Homelessness Stream Model of Care across your team

What You Bring

  • Diploma in Community Services (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting complex client needs within homelessness or housing services (IAP/PRAP experience highly valued)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to mentor others, coordinate service delivery, and build effective partnerships
  • A commitment to social justice, compassion, and The Salvation Army’s mission
  • Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence

Conditions

Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5.
