About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Practitioner! You will provide delivery to monitor quality early intervention and prevention parenting programs across diverse and growing communities. Additionally, you will lead an effective and high functioning team of Parenting Support Practitioners to deliver one on one parenting support services, evidence based parenting education sessions and community-based parenting playgroups.

What is CaPSS?

CaPSS is an Australian Government Family and Communities (Department of Social Services) program aimed at supporting families, strengthening relationships, increasing family connection to their community, and building parenting capacity to improve the wellbeing and outcomes of children. Programs seek to build protective factors to prevent family conflict and/or breakdown.

Responsibilities include

  • Identify opportunities for team training
  • Assist the team leader with the day-to-day operations of the program
  • Line management and supervision of two parenting support practitioners
  • Attend monthly team and program planning meetings
  • Review and assess practitioner caseloads and program facilitations
  • Delegate practitioner workload through clear communication and handover
  • Provide case consultation to practitioners
  • Support practitioners to develop new evidence-based parenting workshops and webinars based on feedback from the community

This is a permanent full-time/part time position (if part-time will be 30.4 hours per week) based in Sunshine, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 6 Award.

You will have

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or related field OR
  • Demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
  • Relevant experience in a Social Service environment
  • Relevant experience in supervising staff
  • A valid Working with Children's Check
