About the role

The BA (Ext) program is a university course open to Australian Indigenous students at the University of Melbourne that supports their transition to University through the provision of an additional study year. Students complete a sequence of subjects in the first year of their degree, which provides a strong academic foundation for their studies, grounded in Indigenous sovereignty. At the completion of the Bachelor of Arts (Extended), students move into a standard Bachelor of Arts course structure.

We are inviting suitably qualified and experienced applicants who have background knowledge and/or experience relevant to working with Australian Indigenous students coupled with demonstrated work experience in relevant teaching at the Foundation Studies level, VCE or University level. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to perform teaching duties in an online educational environment. They will be committed to academic excellence and will have an understanding of Australian educational practices, including a creative and flexible approach to online teaching.

Contract type: This is a part-time (0.25 fraction), fixed term contract position commencing Semester 1 2022 until 30 June 2022.

Salary Range: C3 - C5 FTE $86,633 - $90,646 plus 10% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading
