Transcend Australia is recruiting dynamic and committed external members to:

• Be part of an exciting new organisational chapter with CEO renewal and strategy update

Commitment: Approximately 4 meetings/year (online)

About Transcend

We exist to improve and celebrate the lives of trans, gender diverse and non-binary (TGDNB) young people and their families by providing peer support, connection, information, resources and education, and advocating for change to services and systems. Transcend Australia (Transcend) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. We are a young and small but mighty organisation going through a phase of strategy renewal and maturing our organisational systems.

We are launching two new Committees to enable Transcend Australia to draw on a wider pool of advice, expertise and connections to assist us to meet strategic goals.

1. The Fundraising and Engagement Committee

With financial sustainability essential to ensuring Transcend Australia fulfils its purpose, and with demand for our services frequently exceeding funded capacity, this committee will help guide our efforts in identifying and accessing philanthropic funding streams and support our external affairs, partnerships, and engagement efforts.

We are looking for people with values-alignment, an interest in our work, and experience and/or qualifications across the following areas:

• Fundraising and philanthropy
• Communications
• Partnerships
• Media and social media

2. The HR and Nominations Committee

Our people are at the heart of our work. The HR and Nominations Committee will support the Board through recommendations and planning activities. The committee will develop and recommend to the Board the process for, and oversee the identification and recruitment of, Board Directors, advise the Board and CEO on other Transcend Australia HR related issues, and assist and advise the Board on any other matters consistent with the Committee’s objective.
