About the Role

Tradeswomen Australia is seeking a Social Media & Content Creator to amplify our vision of an Australia where women succeed in skilled trades. This creative and strategic position is responsible for crafting and curating impactful and inclusive content that promotes gender equity, challenges outdated stereotypes, and drives awareness of opportunities and pathways for women in trades.

In our small, purpose-driven team, you'll be both strategic and hands on - developing, scheduling, and delivering content that drives visibility, sparks change, and connects with our growing audience across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, EDM’s and our website. You’ll work closely with our project leads to share impactful stories from our work, partners, and community. You’ll also monitor analytics, report on performance, and shape our future online presence.

About You

You’re a creative communicator with a passion for equity and inclusion. You enjoy storytelling, building communities online, and working with a dynamic, purpose-driven team. You’re confident using digital tools, writing strong copy, and engaging different audiences across social platforms. You work well independently, take initiative, and love using your voice to inspire change. You bring an interest, professional or lived experience in the trades sector and understand the importance of amplifying women’s voices in male-dominated industries to spark national conversations about the future of trades in Australia.

Key Selection Criteria

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience developing and delivering effective digital content strategies across multiple platforms.
  • Strong storytelling and copywriting skills, with a lens on diversity and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, basic video editing, and CMS platforms.
  • Ability to engage respectfully and creatively with diverse voices, especially women in trades.
  • Passion for gender equity and social impact.
  • A collaborative and flexible approach - comfortable collaborating with the team and also taking initiative.

Desirable:

  • Certification in Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, Content Marketing or equivalent.
  • An interest, professional experience or lived experience in the trades sector
  • Experience or certification in photography, videography or graphic design experience
  • Current Working with Children Clearance
  • Current Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)

Additional Information

  • The position requires travel across Victoria and interstate from time to time.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.
