Who are we?

B Lab is the not-for-profit organisation behind Certified B Corporations — or B Corps. We’re working to transform the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. A leader in economic systems change, our global network creates standards, policies, and tools for business, and we certify companies who are leading the way. To date, our community includes over 3,700 B Corps in 74 countries and 150 industries, and more than 100,000 companies manage their impact with the B Impact Assessment.

Our team in Australia & New Zealand is small and nimble, but we’re part of a large global network and an even larger movement.

What’s the role?

The Community Coordinator is a full-time role, supporting the Community Manager in looking after our community of over 300 B Corps across Australia & New Zealand. The role includes preparing communications for email and social campaigns targeted at businesses who are interested in becoming a B Corp or improving their impact.

A typical week for you might look like:

  • Meeting with the Community Manager to share trends & highlights from B Corps’ social channels
  • Compiling content for the monthly community newsletter or quarterly external newsletter
  • Drafting blogs or social media posts to share B Corps’ impact
  • Making tweaks to our website with new content
  • Updating our database (Salesforce) when new information comes in from B Corps
  • Replying to questions on the online community for B Corps, or passing it along to the right person
  • Creating an Instagram story in Canva to spotlight a new B Corp
  • Preparing a report on last month’s campaign data and sharing insights with the team
  • Keeping our email lists clean and up-to-date with new contacts, and helping build new ones for future campaigns

Who are you?

We may be a small team, but we play a big part in supporting our B Corps for success. We also have a lot of fun doing it. You’ll love working with us if you are:

  • Values-led: you identify with our mission of using business as a force for good, and want to help create social and environmental impact
  • Creative: you have a knack for writing, an eye for design, and a love of thinking outside the box
  • A problem-solver: you are happy to challenge the status quo and look for new solutions
  • Willing to learn: you are preferably familiar with Salesforce and Pardot, but a demonstrated ability to learn new tools is the next best thing
  • A good time manager: you are known for using your time well and keeping on top of deadlines
  • Empathetic: you care about your coworkers and their changing priorities, pressures and needs, and are always willing to help
  • Great with detail: you care about consistency and pick up on the little things.

The tools we use

Our work is in Slack, Asana, Google Suite (Docs, Slides, and Sheets), Salesforce, Pardot, Canva, Wix, and Xero. It’s OK if you don't have experience with these platforms, as long as you’re willing to learn.

The way we work

Our office is based in Melbourne’s CBD, but we work remotely and flexibly when needed. Our small team connects with regular virtual meetings, including the occasional call with our peers overseas. We collaborate with our global network to share best practices and work on projects, and work with a passionate community of businesses here in Australia & New Zealand. Some interstate travel may be required (when we can!) but this will not be frequent.
