The Payroll/ Bookkeeper will be responsible for delivering high quality financial and payroll functions for the Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council. The role is responsible for processing accounts for payment, issuing invoices for services/products and chasing up late payments.
Managing and running fortnightly payroll, processing Superannuation Batch payments. Processing payroll and timesheets including, calculating, loadings, and leave entitlements. Maintaining records on QuickBooks and providing regular QuickBooks generated financial reports to the Council. Reconciling accounts, collecting receipts, maintaining filing systems of records compliant with auditing and accounting practices, stocktaking bar, and bar till. Reconciling EFT transactions with the SQUARE system with QuickBooks.
Liaising monthly with Accountant and annually with Auditor along with the Secretary/Treasurer to ensure ongoing compliance with CAV and ATO requirements of an Incorporated Association
This role is critical in supporting the development and strategic direction of the Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council. The incumbent must maintain and work within the regulatory settings of the Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council.
The Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council Incorporated is the second oldestTrades and Labour Council in the world, founded in 1883 by the Ballarat Eight Hour Committee, established in April 1856 on Bakery Hill. Trades Hall helps organise activities and campaigns with, and on behalf, of affiliated unions.

The position is responsible for the effective delivery and coordination of all payroll and financial activities of the BRTLC. The incumbent will also work closely with the Secretary to deliver quality financial reports and complete regulatory requirements. The position will be required to liaise monthly with the BRLTC Accountant and annually with the Auditor along with the Secretary to ensure ongoing compliance with CAV and ATO requirements of an Incorporated Association.
