Thorne Harbour Health, a progressive LGBTIQ+ community-controlled organisation, is currently seeking a skilled and passionate Non-Residential Withdrawal Nurse with strong clinical experience and a commitment to innovative practice for our newly created LGBTIQ+ Non-Residential Withdrawal Nurse.

The Nurse Practitioner will support a dynamic and expanding team of AOD programs. This role joins us at a time of significant growth, program development and innovation for the organisation.

This role will make a real difference to LGBTIQ+ communities and people living with HIV, by removing barriers to AOD treatment pathways.

To be considered for the role you must be:

  • Registered as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA; and, preferably, have both
  • RACGP accredited MATOD training; and
  • A tertiary qualification in AOD or Mental Health.

Also key to the role is the following relevant experience:

  • as a Nurse Practitioner working with people who use alcohol and other drugs;
  • working within a dual diagnosis framework;
  • in clinical assessment and treatment of addiction, physical health and/or mental health;
  • working in community, outpatient and outreach settings.

You will also require a demonstrated sensitivity to the issues that lesbian, gay men/MSM, bisexual and trans and gender diverse people face in accessing culturally sensitive and appropriate health care. A strong commitment to reducing these barriers and supporting these communities.
