We’re seeking an experienced WHS Advisor to lead and drive a proactive safety culture across the Y Northern Territory. This role is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff, contractors, volunteers, and visitors.
This role will provide strategic and operational leadership in WHS, developing policies, managing risk registers, investigating incidents, and overseeing injury management and return-to-work programs. The role also promotes wellbeing initiatives and ensures compliance with all relevant legislation through audits and risk assessments.
Lead investigations into incidents and near misses with actionable recommendations. Develop and maintain WHS frameworks, policies, and compliance systems. Deliver WHS training and support return-to-work programs. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Monitor and report WHS and risk performance data to support strategic planning. Manage injury cases, workers' compensation, and contractor WHS compliance. Provide expert WHS advice, particularly in high-risk areas like aquatic operations.
A minimum of a Certificate IV in WHS and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role. Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and Injury Management Legislation. Demonstrated experience in workplace incident management, risk management and workplace audits, including monitoring and reviewing corrective actions. High level of computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and other office programs.
