The Women’s Mental Health Service provides mental health services to the Women’s Hospital in Parkville. Our major areas of activity are clinical work, education & training. Clinical services cover each of the hospitals clinical streams, i.e. maternity services, gynaecology and women’s cancer and neonatal services.

Within the Women's Mental Health Service you will have professional supervision, mentoring and peer support. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team across the Social Model of Health and the wider hospital.

Your contribution

  • Provide psychological assessment and evidence based therapies (individual and group) to women who are patients of RWH who also have mental health problems, with a significant focus on perinatal mental health
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, care planning and case review
  • Participate in the development and delivery of group programs as appropriate

About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • A minimum of Masters level degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Experience in the delivery of clinical psychology services to patients in a perinatal setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office suite products, use of email and internet searching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Influenza Vaccination Requirement

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.

As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
