The Grange Community Centre (GCC) is situated on Hogans Road in Hoppers Crossing. GCC is a hub for people of all ages to explore opportunities for lifelong learning from childcare, playgroups, school holiday programs, health and wellbeing, workshops, community gatherings, events and more. We respond to the needs of our community by offering a range of programs and services that are accessible, responsive and fun.

The Opportunity

The Grange Community Centre is seeking casual team members that have completed either their Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Qualified Early Childhood Teachers (or working towards) for sessional roles within our children services programs.

Positions are available to commence immediately if you are successful and meet all criteria, having all legal requirements and qualifications met.

Our centre offers the following programs:

  • 3 Year Old Kindergarten (9:00am – 2:00pm)
  • Pre Kinder (3+) Early Learning Program (9:00am – 2:00pm)
  • Before School Care – (6:45am – 9:00am)
  • After School Care (3:00pm-6:30pm)
  • School Holiday Program shifts between (6:45am – 6:30pm)
  • Playgroup (9:00am – 11.30am)

Qualifications & experience

  • Cert III or Diploma in Children's Services (Educators); Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and VIT registration, or working towards (ECT)
  • Current relevant ACECQA approved First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, Asthma Training Certificates and Mandatory Reporting Training Certificate (preferred but can complete upon commencement)
  • Valid Working with Children's Check
  • Current police check
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Personable and approachable
  • An understanding of both the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)

Successful applicants will be required to:

  • Assist the team with implementing the program
  • Assist with the day to day running of the group
  • Implement our policies and procedures
  • Interact and care for children with respect
  • Maintain effective communication with parents/ families
  • Maintain a positive professional working relationship with team members.
