We are looking for a part time community development/engagement worker to come and join our busy Neighbourhood Centre Program that supports two facilities located in both Kalinga and Stafford.

The position offered is 18 hours per week over 3 days - ideally Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - approximately 9am - 3pm.

The aim of the role is to assist in the planning, development and activation of a wide range of community centre projects, events, activities and groups.

Your role will be responsible for some key projects as well as assisting the Manager to achieve the yearly milestones of the Neighbourhood Centre Program.

Community Engagement

• Plan, develop and implement Centre Activities – groups, programs and activities at both Centres.
• Support Existing Centre Groups
• Promote activities, programs and events
• Assist with the development of resources to be used online for promotion of activities, programs and events.
• Events: Assist in the planning, development and running of events at Stafford and Kalinga each funding year.
• Projects: Assist in the planning, development and implementation of Centre Projects each funding year.
• Resources: Assist with the development of yearly resources required for the completion of yearly milestones in the funding year.
• Reporting: Assist the Manager with the quarterly reporting of yearly milestones – events, projects and resources.

Team Responsibilities

• Function as part of The Community Place staff team within the organisations policies, practices and procedures.
• Assist in some of the administrative function of the community centre.
• Participate in and contribute to: orientation, staff meetings, supervision, staff training, strategic planning and staff development reviews.
• Ensure the Centre is a safe and welcoming environment.
• Occasionally be able to work extra hours when other staff may be on Annual Leave or Personal Leave.

Other Responsibilities

Undertake any other duties related to the position as may be determined by the Manager within the objectives of The Community Place.
