TDC is dedicated to fostering economic independence, freedom, and community development by providing essential programs and services.
Da Ngimalmin, a branch within TDC, which translates in English to ‘the roots and foundations of everything’ from the Murrinhpatha language, aims to support and reconnect Kardu (the local people) with their Country, their families, and their community, while developing and strengthening traditional knowledge systems.
The Da Ngimalmin Men's Program Facilitator plays a pivotal role in advancing the objectives of Da Ngimalmin by overseeing and coordinating activities within the Men's Shed and the Community Youth Diversion Program. This multifaceted role involves managing both program areas, working closely with program coordinators, and creating a supportive and culturally sensitive environment for men and youth.
The primary aim of the Da Ngimalmin Men's Program Facilitator is to enhance the well-being and empowerment of men and youth in the community. This is achieved by leading a small team of staff, organising community-focused programs, and mentoring and development opportunities to program participants. The focus is on encouraging men and youth to actively participate in the Men's Shed and the Community Youth Diversion Programs, which contributes to their personal growth and strengthens the community as a whole.
This role also entails playing a key role in liaising and networking with organisations to support the program. This includes collaborating with health and well-being initiatives, training programs, funding bodies, and local, State, and Federal representatives. Moreover, it involves maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders within the local community to ensure the success and sustainability of the programs.
Only applicants with a valid right to work in Australia will be considered. We are an equal opportunity employer and applicants will align with community, cultural and client requirements.
