The Opportunity

Due to an internal promotion, we have an opening available to join the Kulunga Aboriginal Unit at the Telethon Kids Institute! This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who is as passionate about Aboriginal health and child health research that improves the lives of our kids as we are. 

The key focuses of the Kulunga team is to provide expertise, guidance and support across Telethon Kids Institute. The team works with Research teams to connect with Aboriginal children and families, and to further develop the capacity of the Institute on Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing projects.​​

The Role

As the Project Officer you will be part of a growing team and play a pivotal role in providing support and assistance with projects across Aboriginal Health.

We are looking for someone who has great communication skills, strong administrative experience and works well in a team environment that will drive important work to ensure that our research has a meaningful impact to the lives of our Children and families.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Support all aspects of administration, project planning and development for a range of initiatives.
• Assist with the development of policies and procedures to guide projects within the team.
• Provide administrative support, such as developing meeting agendas, taking minutes and credit card reconciliations.
• Build sound networks and relationships to facilitate effective communication, information sharing and increased understanding of culturally appropriate practice between the Institute and communities.

Conveniently located in the Perth Children’s Hospital, this full-time opportunity will be offered at a 12-months contract initially.

About You

The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

• Relevant experience in a similar administrative, project management, business capacity role.
• Proven experience in managing competing priorities with the ability to exercise a flexible approach to changing parameters.
• Great people skills with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Strong interest in Aboriginal Health and Child Health Research
