Note: This role is primarily WFH / remote and can be performed Australia-wide

Role Purpose 

Teach For Australia strives to be a learning organisation, guided by our vision, mission and Theory of Change. The Measurement, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager plays a critical part in TFA living into this commitment by leading the MEAL function to ensure TFA has a strong evidence base which informs decisions and a culture of leveraging data and evaluations for continuous improvement.

This role's evaluation expertise, passion for learning, and continuous improvement orientation will have a broad impact across TFA – from partnering with teams to design and implement measurement and evaluation tools, to supporting evidence-informed decision making, and measuring and communicating TFA's impact as an organisation.

Qualifications and Experience 

Essential 

  • Strong experience in designing and implementing program monitoring and evaluation in social and community services
  • Knowledge and experience in evaluation practice, including experience in developing Theory of Change, logic models and leading program evaluations
  • Experience with large-scale government reporting and quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and maintaining data integrity
  • Experience managing and leading a team or function
  • Degree in social or behavioural sciences, evaluation, education or a related field or equivalent level experience

Skills, Attributes and Knowledge 

Essential 

  • Strong leadership orientation and a flexible self-starter who thrives on challenges and who is a strong fit for Teach For Australia’s vision and core values
  • Strong project management, time management and organisational skills, enabling the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing evaluation reports and summaries, the ability to articulate complex concepts, and make recommendations based on the available information, and the ability to engage and present to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with staff across the organisation to support evidence-based continuous improvement and with external stakeholders as required
  • Established research, data, analysis and evaluation skills with the ability to synthesise conclusions and facilitate discussions for decision making across stakeholder groups
