The Benevolent Society’s vision is to build a just society where all Australians can live their best life. For more than 200 years we have supported people at the margins of society: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians; children, young people, and their families; older people; carers and people with disability. We are an independent, non-religious service provider which supports people to live life their way.
As part of The Benevolent Society vision, we are strongly committed to reconciliation with our First Nations people of Australia. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the economic, political, and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
As a Senior Child & Family Practitioner in our Family Preservation program you will engage and support at-complex-risk families to make different choices for their children. You will undertake an initial assessment of family strengths and needs, and develop case plans that build on the family’s resilience to enable them to overcome risks by using evidence informed practices, partnering with other services and supporting the family to shape their next chapter. You will also support Child and Family Practitioners in performing their role in this program; assisting them in preparation for visits and delivery of the service. In addition, you will work with the other Senior Child & Family Practitioners in the Central Sydney Program to deliver monthly coaching to the entire team of Child and Family Practitioners in the Central Sydney Family Preservation Program.
Our Family Preservation program delivers targeted, voluntary child protection services to families with children who are at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system. The program aims to reduce risks and strengthen families to reduce the number of children entering Out of Home Care.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Worker, Psychologist, Case Worker or Case Manager to become a Senior Child & Family Practitioner within our Family Preservation Program. Family Preservation strengthens families so children can live at home safely, free from abuse and neglect, and enjoy the best possible start to life. We deliver voluntary services to families at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team of Social Workers, Case Managers and Psychologists with supportive Management and Practice Leadership Unit to support you.
As a Senior Child & Family Practitioner in Family Preservation, you will:
