As an Intake and Assessment Officer, you'll be the welcoming voice and supportive guide for individuals seeking legal and social justice services. Your role is crucial in gathering information, identifying client needs, and directing them to the appropriate services, whether within our dynamic organization or through our extensive network of external partners.

You'll work closely with a team of dedicated reception staff, social workers, advocates, and lawyers, all united in their passion for social justice and customer care.

Your day-to-day will be fast-paced and impactful, offering you the chance to develop a deep understanding of the services we provide and the satisfaction of knowing you're making a tangible difference. You'll also have the opportunity to assist in training volunteers, providing backup for reception, and handling various administrative tasks as needed.

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, respect for self and others, and a high degree of professionalism. Demonstrated experience in a frontline service role engaging with members of the public including disadvantaged and vulnerable people is preferred. Formal qualifications are not required for this role, but the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain high-level customer service skills, engage effectively in teamwork and also work independently when required will be key to success in this role. Previous experience as a paralegal in a law firm or studying law is highly desirable. Strong computer and data entry skills, and a working knowledge of MS Office 365, SharePoint and databases are also important. You must have the ability to hold a Positive Notice for Working with Children, and Disability Services (mandatory criminal history screening.

This full-time position is based in Toowoomba and may require travel between offices (work vehicle available) for training and meetings. We offer a competitive salary, salary packaging options, and additional paid leave over the festive period.
