What our new Tenancy Advocate looks like

The Tenancy Advocate role provides support and advocacy to clients of NSCLC, with particular regard to those experiencing difficulties with tenancy matters. This role involves providing information and advice which enables people to resolve their own tenancy issues; and tenants/potential tenants have a raised awareness of tenancy issues and are equipped to access additional avenues of assistance. Involves community education on a need’s basis and a level of court support/representation.

Every day in this role will be different, but a typical day might look like this……

  • Provide information and advice which enables people to resolve their own tenancy issues; and tenants/potential tenants have a raised awareness of tenancy issues and are equipped to access additional avenues of assistance.
  • Assist clients to prepare and lodge correspondence, forms and legal documents.
  • Liaise with community-based agencies and government departments to facilitate access for tenants.

This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), and you will base yourself from our Yanchep office and report directly to a Senior Solicitor.
