If yes, SCALES Community Legal Service is looking for a locum position (preferably full-time) to cover a well-earned Long Service Leave period of 9 weeks for our Managing Director.
SCALES is a not-for-profit incorporated association providing quality free legal services to people living within the Cities of Rockingham and Kwinana.
Services include a tenancy service including a weekly duty service at the Rockingham Magistrates Court, the Family Violence Unit where women experiencing family and domestic violence can be assisted through a multidisciplinary team of solicitors, counsellor, client advocate and financial counsellor; and the Student Law Clinic.
SCALES partners with the Murdoch University School of Law and hosts the Murdoch Student Law Clinic. Law Clinic students interview clients under the supervision of solicitors and do all the related follow up work on behalf of the client.
A solicitor closely supervises every aspect of the students' work. Advice and limited casework are provided through the Law Clinic on:
A suitably qualified individual to cover an 11-week period commencing in mid to late September, including a week handover at each end of the fixed term contract.
Primary duties will be overseeing and managing the leadership team, ensuring good governance of the organisation, managing financial and human resources, ensuring that projects progress and that stakeholder relationships are maintained. You will also contribute and drive positive team culture.
